Week 8 Reading and Writing

 The reading and writing assignments have been working well for me. I've established a good routine to keep up with the work, and I've gotten better at reading as the class has progressed. I can read more diligently, and my reading notes are more focused on storytelling than general plot notes. I can also find stories that I want to re-tell really easily, and I feel comfortable writing stories. I'm happy with the way my blog and project website looks, and I've been satisfied with my writing style. I found that I like to keep the theme and central plot points consistent and change the characters as well as the environment. I want to convey the same message but in different ways. Overall, I feel like I've been improving and growing as a reader and a writer. I've thoroughly enjoyed the class so far, and I look forward to working more on telling stories and completing my project! Looking forward, I aim to keep my routine up and finish my project with more interesting stories. I chose this photo of a white lotus from my Week 2 Reading Notes, because I find the picture so beautiful. The flower is so eloquent, and it's such a calming color.

Introduction to Ish

  Hey everybody! My name’s Ishan, but I go by Ish, like fish without the f. I’m a sophomore and I’m majoring in both Biology and Letters with a Pre-Med track. I hope to practice medicine, but I’m still unsure of the specialty I want to work in. I’ve been fascinated with neurosurgery, but the extensive schooling and long, risky procedures made the field less appealing. I recently read Do No Harm by Dr. Henry Marsh, one of the world’s best neurosurgeons, and the various stories demonstrated the difficult lifestyle of a neurosurgeon. As a result, I’d be more interested in a neurosurgical specialization of a field I found appealing, such as a neuro-ophthalmology, but I’m open to all options.   I was born in Frankfort, Indiana; it’s an extremely small town relatively close to Indianapolis. Week 3 Story: Hanu the Dog

There was once a teenage boy named Varun, and it was rumored that he ran faster than the wind. An expert sprinter, Varun told all that his speed was due to his loyal German Shepherd, Hanu. As a young boy, Varun adopted Hanu when he was a puppy. Both Varun and Hanu were inseparable; whether it’s playing fetch or taking a walk, Varun always spent his time taking care of Hanu. As they grew older, they fell in love with racing, and the duo would run across the winding roads. Their sprints were a sight to behold, with the whole town holding their breath in anticipation to see who won the race.   One day, Hanu woke up with a hunger to run like no other; he was pacing around the house and could barely contain his excitement.
